early morning Local 5km run : mid afternoon thunder storms ; 2km warm down.

All runs done from home today with the threat of rain and thunderstorms throughout the day. Good weather for staying indoors. next hard session on Friday with my running partner. 

Road trip ; all terrain run 17km

This morning a road trip south to meet up with my training partner on another all terrain run. Weather cool to very warm. We ran our regular loop on all types of terrain including trails, golf course ant bike paths. Early in the run we encountered a recently burnt hous where the fire brigade and police were dousing the remaining hot spots. There wasn't much of the house left.

strong winds overnight and yesterday afternoon cut power along coast

Yesterday afternoon and gale force winds overnight cut power to many regions along the coast. This morning things much improved with full sun and no signs of the damaging winds of yesterday. I ran 20km in the morning in cool conditions, a joy to be out there running.

No overnight rain, some clouds out to sea with a promising blue sky appearing for the first time in more than 4 days allowing us to run a set of long intervals out and back from home.

overnight rain cloudy skies : morning 8km run constant drizzle and rain and finally looks to be clearing later in the day. fingers crossed.

Yesterday afternoon and overnight rain, heavy at times, today clearing to just grey skies. We ran a few solid efforts as Intervals including a few hills south of here on the golf course overlooking the island.

This morning a 23km run from home with rain and thunderstorms setting in early afternoon Nnon.Tomorrow a run with my training partner down south.

Morning 13km local run ; warm down ; whale spotting

Early morning 13kmun from home a long the Coast trail and return followed by an easy warm down where I spotted mother and baby humpback whales , very late in the season now, so lucky to see them for possibly the last time this year heading south to Antarctica before heading north again for breeding. Weather sunny, no wind.
