Pre-Dawn Beaches Run : Cemetery Beach, Surf Beach

High tide coming in this morning, strung Cemetery Beach and Surf Beach together to complete the fast pace morning session. An hour later at Low tide a second run down to the Beach and back with the dogs. Long Warm Down Recovery, 2 x One Mile Hill efforts in the afternoon, 17km for the day.

Not Parkrun Glasshouse Rocks Beaches Racing Munchkin the Border Collie : Steve 3 x 1km

Early morning Trip to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches on low tide with Munchkin the Border Collie. We had access to all the Beaches, the sand hard packed and quick, nobody else there. Munchkin and I had another Play Race, today I was able to keep up by running Full Gas Race Speed. After the run a long warm down, 17km for the day. Steve ran 3 x 1km for his session at 3:25/km.

Morning run on the Glasshouse Rocks Beaches a low Tide Racing Munchkin the Border Collie. I am afraid Munchkin was faster than me Today, I was at full gas trying to keep up. Long warm down back a home spotting Humpback Whales breaching off the point. In the afternoon 2 x One Mile hill Efforts, 17km for the Day.

Pre-Dawn run on the Glasshouse Rocks Beaches at low tide with Munchkin the Border Collie. From home a second run on my local beaches including whale spotting. An afternoon 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts. Too cold in Canberra for pleasant running, Steve Trained indoors.

Beach Intervals 2 x 1500m ; 2 x 1500m Hill ; Training Update

Early morning run on Cemetery Beach with Munchkin the Border Collie. Basically a repeat of yesterday using my phone torch to get down to the beach on single track followed by 2 x 1500m out and back on fast hard packed sand. We weren't racing each other today due to lack of light. In the afternoon 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts, long warm down, 17km for the day. Tomorrow will complete Week 10 of this training Block. Weekly training volume was built up to a maximum of 122km/week on 2nd June.The Weather was not great for running in Canberra Today, Steve delayed his run and ran easy later in the day around a lake. With the days getting colder I won't commence structured training until I commence Block 2 when the weather warms in a month or two.

Pre Dawn run on Cemetery Beach with Munchkin the Border Collie at dead low Tide, in the dark on the single track down to the beach, I used my Phone as a torch. The sand again super quick with loads more beach exposed. The pace was quick with no stopping at Sea Puddles. After the run a long warm down. A second Run in the afternoon as 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts.

Final Day Racing Milli and Munchkin The Border Collies Training Camp

Another Pre-Dawn start and the final Day of Racing Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies in this  Training Camp. Milli led the way down the single track path to the Beach. The Beach was at dead low tide and super fast hard sand, so much fun racing each other. We stopped at sea puddles for a dip wherever they were.

We were all awake before dawn, Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies having another Play Race on the Glasshouse Rocks beaches at low tide at full gas with stops at the beach puddles for a dip to cool off. The Afternoon Run was 8km by myself on the same beaches, same pace, same low tide...a joy to be out there.

Not Parkrun Glasshouse Beaches 6km Racing Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies

The rain of yesterday pushed off out to sea overnight making for a nice day. I drove Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies down the hill to Glasshouse Beaches at low tide for a 6km full gas run stopping only for a sea puddle swim and photo opportunities for the dogs.Being Low tide we had full access to all the beaches again. At noon we ran the same beaches again as a second run, same fast pace. I have another day minding this pair of Border Collies before heading back to my patch.

Rain Event : Indoor Training 17km

Lots of rain on the coast, persistent rain all morning and no sign of the sun, I completed 17km Indoors...That's it for the day, here's hoping for better weather on Saturday.

Beach Intervals Racing Munchkin and Milli The Border Collies : Steve 30 Minute Tempo Run ; 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts

Some early rain this morning and set to continue this week. A short drive south to the Glasshouse Rocks Beaches where Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies joined together with myself for a very fast set of 2 x 1500m efforts plus the trip up and down the escarpment to the beach. Pace was really quick with Milli the fastest, I was just hanging in there. It looks like the three of us will be running together for the whole weekend. Steve ran a 30 minute Tempo run on his patch in chilly weather.

High tide again cutting access to a couple of beaches again. Munchkin the Border Collie and I ran 2 x 2km efforts with a decent break between efforts. We stopped of at the home of Milli the Border Collie to allow another Play Date between the pair. An hour later Munchkin was sound asleep and snoring in her bed. In the afternoon 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts. Rain will be about for the rest of the week, sometimes heavy. I expect no Parkrun for me this Saturday, staying local for training.

Beach Intervals 2 x 2km ; 4 x 500m

High tide at the beach this morning for a set of 2 x 2km on Surf Beach, 4 x 500m on Cemetery Beach with Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies. One kilometre of Cemetery beach was cut off due to high tide. Just one other person at the beach. After the session a long easy warm down. In the Afternoon 2 x One Mile Hill Efforts. Steve ran his set at Stromlo XC Circuits as 5 x 200m, 1 x 1km efforts. Lots of rain expected Thursday and Friday.

Hazardous Surf and Rain this morning. I drove further down the coast hoping conditions would be better, much of the same. Not much beach to work with. Munchkin the Border Collie and I ran 2 x 1500m Intervals before calling it quits. More running later today when the weather clears.

Cool to cold windy morning Beach Fartlek Intervals with Milli and Munchkin the Border Collies. It turned into a series of races between the three of us with Milli teaching Munchkin how to herd waves. . In the afternoon 2 x One Mile hill efforts followed by a short recovery run.
