Taper Week : Lyon : Day 8

Left Annecy this morning, drove to Ugine for a 25 minute jog (felt great), to Albertville for shopping, to Lyon for registration WMA Championships, to hotel to settle in. Racing cross country tomorrow:-)

Rain Event Continues ; Indoor Training ; Tour de France Begins this Weekend with start and finish in Lille

Heavy rain with Gale Force Winds Overnight and continuing today. This weather system should move off the coast in a day or two. Today just indoor training with the odd walk outside to get food at the local store. Tour de France commences this weekend in Lille. Even though I've run over most of the stages over previous years I still get excited every year when it comes around again. The weather today here is very similar to when I visited Lille in 2014 for the Grand depart, cold, miserable and still excited to be there. I got out there for a second Fast Paced run this afternoon on my HillLoop. No change in the weather and another 15km done for the day.

Moana Beach Intervals 8.5km ; Mclaren Vale to Willunga Rail Trail 6.5km ; Long Drive home

My final session on the beach at Moana this morning, again starting before dawn, the session: 500m warm up, 2 x 4km out and back with Munchkin the Border Collie. A highlight of good Friday was the large gathering of Easter Bunnies who double as a swimming group. After the beach a 6.5km run along the Mclaren Vale to Willunga Rail Trail. I finish this journey with 3 days of back to Back Racing on track and Cross Country, Saturday 1500m, Sunday 5000m Track, Monday 8000m Cross Country, Long Drive home.
