BBQ Stakes 6km Threshold Run 21:38

Weekly Wednesday threshold run at BBQ Stakes. Weather cool to warm with light winds, nice for running. Started with Nick today who was super quick again in the first 2km. On the 3km XC section I was solo and chasing the early starters. Result of 21:38 is 65 seconds quicker than a fortnight ago, quicker than last week by a nice margin too. The time is equal to anything I've done just prior to a World Championships or other major event. I should be able to build upon this and run some fast times on track or road in coming months.

Next set on Saturday, long intervals at Stromlo XC circuit.

A big weather event is brewing for much of my local area this afternoon and weekend. Up to 100mm predicted to fall with damaging winds. I've been through a few of these periods now. I've started setting up for indoor training. This morning a quick trip to the shop for supplies that the puppy will eat, another short run solo, and a short puppy training session of fetch the ball. I ran 80 minutes just before the weather arrived. Tassie Masters Athletics posted this video from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships mixed XC race a few days ago on their Youtube site. A great memory from such a great event.
