ACT Masters Track Session 4 x 200m, 3000m 10:05
When we looked at the ACT Masters track race schedule we saw a pattern of off and on weeks. We adapt. Off week, high volume training, distance races at 6pm, windy, more runners to lap, warm/hotter than ; On week, low volume, distance races at 7:40pm, calm, less runners to lap, cooler. Excerpt from training diary, 4 x 200m warm up on off week, higher volume...on week is next week ACT Masters 5000m Championship on Thursday and Australian Running Festival Half Marathon on Sunday. A big week of racing, lighter week of training. Next set on Saturday with 6 x 800m XC efforts, 200m recovery.
Today 2km morning run, 5km warm up, 4 x 100m strides (19,17,16,19), 4 x 200m, 200m jog (32,33,33,32), warm down, stretch, warm up, 4 x 100m strides, 3000m 10:05, warm down.
Training partner Steve was very good today, only a few seconds back, another step forward. I think we almost lapped the entire field, many more than twice.
