Back at home a maximum threshold effort on my 10km hill loop, hard going into the wind. Tour de France 2025 Concludes ; Incredible Crowds on Montmartre ; Local Run 12km ; 10km Hill Loop ; Warm Down

Tour de France 2025 Concluded early this morning, I watched all minutes of the race on TV and enjoyed seeing the huge crowds cheering on the climbs up Montmartre, I felt for the riders given the rain and wet cobbles and happy for the stage to finish without incident except for flat tyres and dropped chains. Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift is two stages in. I look forward to watching more great racing and scenery in coming days. This morning a 12km run followed by another Maximum threshold run on my Hill Loop and an easy warm down. I've been very consistent with this session apart from a couple of soft days due to rain. The weather this morning cool,Sunny, light winds. Only 6 weeks or so until my Half Marathon in Sydney.

Tour de France Final stage will be Broadcast this evening on SBSHD Midnight to 4AM AEST. I have set the alarm having watched the closing stages of the Femme stage from Vannes to Plumelec this afternoon. Plumelec was my first ever Tour de France stage I saw live in person in 2008.

Image
Last evening a very wet race to Pontarlier for Tour de France with some crashes especially near the finish, Kaden Groves winning the stage in a solo ride. I don't know what to expect in Paris with the Montmartre climbs and many of the jerseys already decided. We also have the Women's Tour in Progress since early this morning which is always exciting to watch. This morning a trip to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches for a set of 2 x 3km Beach Intervals. It's been raining here at home on and off all morning. A short break then a 10km effort on my Hill Loop at maximum threshold. It's only 7 weeks until my Half Marathon in Sydney.

Shortened Stage Albertville to La Plagne ; Rain Overnight ; Local Run 10km

Image
Tour de France is almost winding down now with Nantua to Pontarlier the final stage before heading to Paris.Last evening the stage Albertville to La Plagne was reduced in distance to 95km due to a potential equine virus contamination?. Weather at the tour turned to rain during the stage and some riders looked very Tired and riding within themselves except Thymen Arensman who for the second time in this tour won the stage in a solo Break Away. It was also raining here overnight and into this morning. I ran a 4km warm up before heading out on my 10km hill Loop and with a slippery surface I reduced my speed as a precaution. Next stage is Nantua to Pontarlier. I've been to both Locations running to Nantua from Lac Genin doing a series of 4 x 6 minute efforts with short recovery and watch the Caravan Pass prior to the Tour de France stage at Mont du Chat when Richie Porte unfortunately crashed at high speed. Pontarlier was an overnight stop with some easy running on the hills through a...

Ben O'Connor Wins Queen Stage of Tour de France ; Next Stage Albertville to LaPlagne ; Local Run WarmUp 2.5km, 10kmHill Loop, Warm Down

Image
So great to see Ben O'connor win the Queen stage of Tour de France with a perfect ride to the summit of Courchevel. Next stage is from Albertville to LaPlagne, another brutal stage. The last time I visited La plagne the resort was looking a little tired with works underway and I was based in Albertville and driving daily to a different resort including LaPlagne and running up the mountains. It's currently owned by Compagnie des Alpes and will be interesting to see what it looks like at the stage finish tomorrow. This morning all runs from home with 2.5km warm up for my 10km Hill Loop at maximum threshold and a warm down recovery.

Tour de France Watching ; Local 6km run ; 10km Hill Loop ; Warm Down ; Courchevel ; Meribel

Another entralling Tour de France Stage overnight with a sprint finish in Valence. Late in the stage it started raining around 10km from the finish as reported to the teams by radio but that didn't stop a big crash in the peloton. In the finale the Sprint to the line was safe with Milan Winning the Stage. Next stage VIF very hilly to Courchevel, Col del la loze. I first ran at Courchevel and Meribel in 2008 when I was based in Albertville, running up all the mountains I could daily and cherries were easy picking.Morning 6km run from home as a warm up(only one degreee outside, cold, sunny skies)followed by 10km on my hill loop and a warm down.
