Mothers Day Classic Canberra 10km and 5km Fun Runs

I usually spectate in this low key event. Once before I ran the 10km, today a run in the 5km (2nd, James Barker 1st). Lots of friends out there to chat to and a fun way to spend the morning for a worthy cause. Pacemakers Pete and Dave, Jimmy, Ann, KT, Missy, Jack and Helen were among those out there. Jen ran big PB in 10km.

All up 13km this morning. Another 11km later in the day when it stops raining. Next set on Tuesday, possible some 2 minute efforts off short recovery.

A big weather event is brewing for much of my local area this afternoon and weekend. Up to 100mm predicted to fall with damaging winds. I've been through a few of these periods now. I've started setting up for indoor training. This morning a quick trip to the shop for supplies that the puppy will eat, another short run solo, and a short puppy training session of fetch the ball. I ran 80 minutes just before the weather arrived. Tassie Masters Athletics posted this video from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships mixed XC race a few days ago on their Youtube site. A great memory from such a great event.
