Morning run with the dog to the beach and back via the golf course including a set of long tempo intervals as 2km, 2 x 1km and a 1500m hill to finish. No whales today, more luck with dolphin spotting, a pod riding in the waves looking for breakfast.
Morning run from home through the golf course and forest trails down to the beaches and back. Glorious weather after overnight storms. Spring a little early this year. It's still months until I race again at the Australian Masters Athletic Championships, Tasmania in March. I'm really enjoying building the training base up again without any pressure to run fast. I don't even need to think about structured training until the new year.
Morning run up the coast and back with the dog. Many Humpback whales thrashing about off all the beaches on their return migration to Antarctica which will continue for a few more months.
Heavy storms overnight clearing to a warm, sunny day. The run today from home, through the golf course to the beach and return incorporation a 1500m hill.
Morning run with the dog at low tide incl 2 x 1km and 1 x 2km intervals. We had dolphins for company feeding in the first break of waves on Surf Beach.
Overnight drizzle continued overnight clearing to a sunny day, too late to make a safe trip to Parkrun. Instead a run chasing the dog out and back over three beaches at a solid pace.
Rain dried up overnight, full sun today. I enjoyed the golf course yesterday, repeated the same 17km grass and beach out and back run with the dog. Milli the Border Collie is in peak form, both of us having a great tempo run.
Morning recovery run with the dog. A good way to wind down from all the Matildas football action from last evening by watching humpback whales breaching off the beach as we ran. Up in Sydney it was City2Surf mass participation 14km fun run (approx 80,000). I head from my friends who ran well. Jen was 1st in W65-69. others started back of the pack.
