Local Runs 20km ; Pea Soup Fog ; Race Day Shoes

Image
Pre-Dawn runs from home with a pea soup fog drifting in from the coast, bringing with it very light misty rain. I used this morning to un-box My Race day Shoes(Nike Alphafly3) as yet un-worn in a race. I did try them on just once on a short jog. This morning they got a decent wearing in without issues and will wear them in more as my first race day nears in April. With my car out of action getting repairs my next Parkrun is likely to be on 8th March.

Recovery Day, Easy Running 20km ; Short Intervals To Follow ; Steve 3 x 1km XC Intervals

This Morning a Recovery Day on local paths after Parkrun in Pambula yesterday, just taking in the sights in beautiful weather. 20km all up for the morning. Last evening the first time in ages I looked at the Garmin Stats to get an Idea of where I am at. Yesterday's run chart looked typical with a moderate start until I found my threshold and holding heart rate just over 161BPM from 5 minutes in, all the way to the finish. It never felt easy in the Parkrun with 99% Humidity. I hope to find better racing conditions in Autumn. I'll focus on short Intervals from Monday on and see if I can improve a little this Saturday.
