Morning Run 11km ; Glasshouse Rocks Beaches 2 x 1km Beach Intervals ; Whale Spotting ; Vuelta A Espana Watching ; Jay Vine

Morning 11km run from home before heading to Glasshouse Rocks for a set of 2 x 1km Beach Intervals. Weather cool and calm early, full sun, windy as the day progressed. We had to cut the session short at Glasshouse Rocks with Two White Bellied Sea Eagles circling above looking for food and Munchkin the Border Collie would have made a Bite Sized Snack. This Morning I spotted a Humpback Whale Breaching off the Point, close to shore. There Will be Many more whales passing by soon.I spent the night watching the Vuelta Stage 6 and a summit finish in Andorra. The Town Centre has grown substantially since I was last there and great to See Jay Vine Claim his 3rd Grand Tour solo win to the Summit on his Wet Home Roads.

My final session on the beach at Moana this morning, again starting before dawn, the session: 500m warm up, 2 x 4km out and back with Munchkin the Border Collie. A highlight of good Friday was the large gathering of Easter Bunnies who double as a swimming group. After the beach a 6.5km run along the Mclaren Vale to Willunga Rail Trail. I finish this journey with 3 days of back to Back Racing on track and Cross Country, Saturday 1500m, Sunday 5000m Track, Monday 8000m Cross Country, Long Drive home.

Australian Masters Athletics Championships and Canberra Marathon Festival 10km Final preparations and Race Schedule

A huge Fortnight of race preparation and racing ahead with four big races starting this Sunday. This morning a steady 5km run as a warm up for the day with a lovely sunrise followed by a quick 10km Hill Loop and warm down. Weather cool to cold early, warming quickly at sunrise. End of Daylight Savings overnight bringing more light to the morning and less in the afternoon. On Thursday a drive to Canberra to collect race Bib for the 10km Road Race: The full Race Schedule for me: 10km Sunday, Drive 15 hours to Adelaide, Arrive Wednesday afternoon. Australian Masters Athletics Championships Begin. 1500m on Saturday,(Did not enter 1000m Track, too close to 10km Road Race), 5000m Sunday, 8000m XC On Monday, Drive 15 hours Home on Tuesday.
