World Masters Games Auckland : M50-59 10000m 1st 34:13

Fastest run of the day all ages wasn't enough to break 34 minutes as I hoped. On 33:20 pace for 4000m I slowed markedly when the midday sun came out from the clouds and the wind picked up. Like the 5000m I lapped all but one competitor. Happy enough with my three runs.

Michael Capper won M50 35:26. M55 had the same podium as 5000m with David Riches 2nd, Peter Richards 3rd. 2nd fastest run of the day was Rick Tombling M40 34:21. Rick's race was on before ours. I noted all his splits. They were very similar to mine, slowing mid-race and coming home strong.

Alison was a close 2nd in a tactical W30-34 800m. A great way to finish her campaign also.

As things would have it I came down with a virus last evening. I'll be taking it easy until I feel better.
