Taper Time : Training Update

After 11 months of base training and very few proper races it will be time to taper for Australian Masters Athletics Championships on 1st March. This will allow 10 days to maintain key session intensity and slowly reduce training volume to around 85km/week just in time for my first Championship race on 10th March, a 10000m track followed by 1500m,5000m,8000mXC on consecutive days. This morning easy running down to the beach and back at low tide with a 1500m hill effort to finish. Key sessions this week will be 300m intervals or a 1km time trial. Parkrun this week will be my final very hard effort before the Championships and likely I'll head to a fast course.
