Worldwide Virtual Masters Challenge ; European Masters Athletics One Mile Challenge ; Steve 3 x 500m ; Recovery Run 14km

Winter has arrived. Not so good for running with strong winds, gloomy skies, chilly. A cold front is pushing through this evening, high chance of snow at 800m asl or higher. Steve got out there early for 3 x 500m efforts. Splits: 1:35,1:33,1:31. I waited until late afternoon, running 14km out of the wind along the river, passing a giraffe feeding at the National Zoo and Aquarium before returning on the other side of the river.

The month of July is busy for virtual running events. European Masters Athletics continue with a One Mile Challenge, following on from the 5000m Challenge in May and 10000m challenge in June. I'll be running a series of One Mile time trials both on and off track as preparation for my peak in late July. I will enter the 2020 Worldwide Virtual Masters Challenge (which replaced the World Masters Athletics Championships in Toronto, Canada, cancelled). I will stick to the original WMA Championships timetable for my events, adding in an 8000m XC as this is missing from the Worldwide Virtual Masters Challenge events.

My racing timetable for July: One Mile, multiple runs from 6th July to 18th July (including split at 1500m). 20th July 8000m XC. 22nd July 5000m. 26th July 10000m...(as per WMA program)

Next set Saturday morning at Stromlo XC circuits. not many in town. I will start with 4 x 500m efforts and adjust according to the weather.
