Persistent Rain ; Run from Home Day 21km ; Steve 5km, 19:07

Heavy Rain and Storms overnight and into the morning as persistent drizzle, some wind, a run from home of 21km on the coast trail and where possible on grass or lounge on the couch. Steve ran 5km from his patch in 19:07. At noon the rain got even heavier, Munchkin and I made a fast dash out the door for an additional 3 km run.

Steve 5 x 200m XC Intervals ; Glasshouse Rocks Beach Intervals ; Golf Course Hill Efforts

Morning Set of 5 x 200m with 90 seconds recovery at Stromlo XC Circuits. Splits: 32,33,33,33,32. Munchkin and I were up before dawn for an 8km run on the coast trail before heading to Glasshouse Rocks for a set of Beach Intervals and Golf Course Hill efforts. Long warm Down from Home, 25km for the day, 152km last 7 days.

Package Day ; 20km Local Running Loop ; Glasshouse Rocks Long Beach Intervals ; Steve 30minute Tempo Run

Up well before dawn to start a 20km local Running loop on assorted surfaces with Munchkin the Border Collie. Goal was to finish the running before a package arrived and escape the heat. The package arrived before noon. Munchkin and I went to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches for a Quick session of long Beach Intervals with a passing storm cooling things off nicely. Steve ran a 30 minute tempo run on his patch. Not easy to fit everything in with this weather.

Morning Session Glasshouse Rocks Beaches ; Golf Course 12km ; Long Recovery Run 10km ; Heat Wave Continues

Early morning trip to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches with Munchkin the Border Collie. We ran 2 x 1km on Mushy, wet sand before bailing out to the faster running on the lush, Hilly Golf Course for two full laps before Heading home for a long Warm Down. Weather warm to hot and humid, pea soup fog inland and along the coast, clearing before lunch. In the afternoon a 10km recovery run. 22km for the day, 148km last 7 days.

Early Morning trip to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches with Munchkin the Border Collie. Weather Pea soup out to sea, Tide high and rising, hot and humid, I knew this before we left home and always had the cooler, lush Golf Gourse as a backup. Running the Beaches on mushy sand wasn't a great experience. We ran 2 x 1 km on Beach, A full loop of the hilly Golf Course where we bumped into Milli The Border Collie and continued on to Surf Beach Where Munchkin and Milli could herd some waves together. At Home a long warm down, 10.5km for the Morning session ; Afternoon Session of 7km was at low tide just after lunch, much quicker than the morning set. Steve ran 4 x 3 minute efforts at 830 metres per 3 minutes on his patch. Last evening Munchkin and I munched on seafood from a local popup Cafe just metres from home.

Long Intervals 12km ; Long Warm Down ; Heat Wave Weather Alert Continues ; Australian Masters Athletics Half Marathon Championships Results 2024 1st M60

Pre-Dawn Long Interval Session of 6 x 2km to escape the heat of the day. Most of the session was done on the Golf Course and Glasshouse Rocks Beaches at High Tide followed by a long warm down on the Coast trail. 21km for the day, 151km last 7 days. Good News today, I found Results for the Australian Masters Athletics Half Marathon Championships Results 2024 have been Published, confirming I was 1st M60 and winning my 8th Australian Masters Athletics Half Marathon Championship event. In 2025 the event will be a straight up Half Marathon Championship event unlike some previous years where it was a Postal Event Australia Wide. 2025 will be a busy start to the racing Calendar having entered already in the Australian 10km Road Championships, Competing the the Australian Masters Athletics Championships in Adelaide in April 2025 and backing up with the Australian Masters Athletics Half Marathon Championship event in Canberra in May 2025.

Early Morning runs at Glasshouse Rocks and Surf Beaches racing Munchkin the Border Collie. Weather Warm to Hot, especially after the sun rose. Munchkin had many dips in the ocean to cool off along the way. We extended the session with a run on the Golf Course and 2 x 500m Single Track Hill Efforts. Back at home a long warm down on the coast trail, 20km for the day, 150km last 7 days. Steve Ran 21km as a lap of the lake in 99 minutes.

Early Morning trip to Glasshouse Rocks Beaches at low tide racing Munchkin the Border Collie on firm, fast sand. The Set: Warm up, 7 x 2km efforts with long recovery, (Ocean Puddle Stops for Munchkin). Weather cool to very warm once the sun rose. 2 x 500m Single track hills to finish the session. Long Warm Down from Home. 20km for the day, 153km last 7 days. Steve ran 5km on his patch in 19:04. Very warm for Steve in Canberra too.
