Saturday Session : Long Hilly Intervals

In the bush, similar to last week, an introduction without pressure to some consistent training with an outcome in many months to come, some rewards on the way. The session: 3-4 x 4-5minute hilly intervals, long recovery. Of me: Every effort quicker:3:52,3:48,3:46,3:45 The distance approx. 1070m with 50m ascent. Big crew again on board. In honour of the imminent return of Roget, brunch at Seasalt Dining. What not to do! Training and racing wise! We all need someone to guide us. In 1992 I started Canberra Marathon being quite fit. I completed that marathon in a PB but not a good run. I had no coach, nobody to slow me down or take stock. A month later Australian Running Championships, next month Mazda Otway Classic. Mentally finished at the end of this. Brucie, my body couldn't handle all that training/racing even if my head wanted it to! However, a good message for the overly zestful runners amongst us :o). Thanks for sharing all that experience.
