Parkrun Ginninderra 2nd 17:28 : Steve Parkrun Tuggeranong 2nd 17:52

Almost perfect conditions for running at Parkrun Ginninderra, 2nd in 17:28,setting a new M60 age record by 1:58 (previously held by club mate Peter Brown). Splits(500m):1:42,1:44,1:38,1:44,(dead turn,1:47),1:42,1:43,1:45,1:45,1:42. A big step forward on last week, I felt great today. After Parkrun coffee as usual. Steve was 2nd at Parkrun Tuggeranong in 17:52. On Sunday a long recovery run. In the next 2 weeks a 5000m on track (weather dependant) and two more Parkruns, plus the normal sessions, with a 7 day taper to finish off. I expect to be back in peak form again on or around April 1st.

A big weather event is brewing for much of my local area this afternoon and weekend. Up to 100mm predicted to fall with damaging winds. I've been through a few of these periods now. I've started setting up for indoor training. This morning a quick trip to the shop for supplies that the puppy will eat, another short run solo, and a short puppy training session of fetch the ball. I ran 80 minutes just before the weather arrived. Tassie Masters Athletics posted this video from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships mixed XC race a few days ago on their Youtube site. A great memory from such a great event.
