Cavaillon : Abandoning the Tour

After 9 straight days of watching the Tour we have now abandoned it (almost) for three days. A recap: Lille (finish), Arenberg (finish), Reims (finish), Chalons en Champagne (on course), Remiremont (on course), Gerardmer (start), Belles Filles (on course), Lac Genin (on course), Bourg en Bresse (start). That takes us to 98 Tour de France stage visits since 2008 and on track for our 100th visit in Carcassonne. This is the 101st Tour de France event.

Yesterday we lucked upon a lake. We spent two days and nights of pique nigues, sitting, swimming, running by a lake 870m high up in the Jura. We saw deer, listened to the huge cod in the lake at night and heard two men playing strange music instruments to the fish. The tour actually came through the camp ground / lakeside which was crazy. The weather was warm to hot and sunny. I managed 90 minutes of running yesterday and another 90 minutes today.

So here in Cavaillon we will watch the stage finishes in Saint Etienne, Chamrousse and Risoul on tv from the motel. On Sunday the tour comes through Cavaillon and we will watch from near here. In coming days we will visit the market in Apt and some other beau villages of the Luberon we love so much.

Some images from days past.
