Tour de France 2014 Lac Genin Climb

While we watched the caravan pass by the lake we made haste for the initial (and steep) climb out of the lake. The riders were close to on time and we only had to wait 10 minutes and gain a vantage point. We both watched from different sides of the road hoping one of us would make the tv.

The riders passed but not without incident. I was pinned against a fence and had no room to move. The AG2R team vehicle decided to pass a rider near where I was, honked the horn assuming I would move back but could not. At the last second the car swerved back to the left enough to miss me.

When most of the riders had passed we headed back to the lake and found a big tv that a sponsor had and watched the thrilling finish into Oyonnax. There was no tv reception in the lake unless you had a satellite dish.
