Stromlo 2000m Time Trial 6:26
Foggy Monday morning, cold (+ 5 degrees), no wind, perfect fast running weather for me. The Stromlo criterium track was damp, not saturated after more overnight rain. There were no kangaroos or bikes (I was lucky with the timing). Goal for the 2000m was 6:30ish. I was able to see my watch giving 500m splits, lots of positive reinforcement today.
Splits: 1:37.36,1:38.96,1:34.98,1:34.52=6:26.43. I should be able to take some of that speed to my next 5000m time trial. After the run a long warm down, 17km for the day, 125km for the week and for the last 5 weeks which ends week 19 of this 6 month base training block. Training for the remainder of the week will be another 2000m time trial, 2 short interval sets followed by another 5000m time trial. I am getting my 2nd Covid jab on Friday so it will be before then as I expect not to feel good for a couple of days.
