Canberra Runners Half Marathon 1st M60+ 1 Hour 20min,43 seconds ; Vaporfly 3 thoughts

zero degrees, no wind and clear skies for the start of the Canberra Runners Half Marathon. I made the trip up from the coast yesterday afternoon, caught up with friends and stayed with them overnight. My run 80 minutes 43 seconds, just one second slower than my 2023 result on the same course. I pushed hard throughout and suffered big time in the final 1km, completely running out of fuel. My friends Clare and Helen were 1st and 3rd in Women 60-69. Steve ran it as a training run back of the pack. My Thoughts on the Vaporfly 3 over a Half Marathon...I love them! I celebrated with an afternoon snack by the river.

A big weather event is brewing for much of my local area this afternoon and weekend. Up to 100mm predicted to fall with damaging winds. I've been through a few of these periods now. I've started setting up for indoor training. This morning a quick trip to the shop for supplies that the puppy will eat, another short run solo, and a short puppy training session of fetch the ball. I ran 80 minutes just before the weather arrived. Tassie Masters Athletics posted this video from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships mixed XC race a few days ago on their Youtube site. A great memory from such a great event.
