Pre-Dawn set of 3 x 1500m Intervals at Glasshouse Rocks Beaches racing Munchkin the Border Collie

Weather cool, no wind at Glasshouse Rocks Beaches for a set of 3 x 1500m Intervals. Sand firm and fast again, lucky with recent favourable tides this week. After the finish of the set I heard, then saw a Large pod of Humpback whales Breaching in the bay between Surf Beach and the island. I spent some time watching and taking photos before heading home. I ran a long warm down on the coast trail, 18km for the day.

Long Intervals

Of me: Early set. Same set as last 2 weeks, quicker again. 2000m (631), 1600m (5:13), 1200m (3:57)[first 4 efforts at 10km pace], 800m (2:30), 400m (69)...all with 200m recovery. Running technique much better. Form much better...not sure how much the form is due to iron jab or 5 weeks of consistent training and some great sessions. Of the others: I paced 5200m at exactly 4mins/km. Roget and Tori did what they could at that pace. Maria did 3 x 1000m. Janene on her own did similar to other weeks in the 4:10-4:15 range. Heidze did 1600m, 1200m, 800m, 400m and looking very comfortable in doing so. Kathy some strides. Helen this morning 4 x 7 minutes.

Big Weather Event Brewing ; Indoor Training ; Australian Masters Athletics Championships Mixed XC race

A big weather event is brewing for much of my local area this afternoon and weekend. Up to 100mm predicted to fall with damaging winds. I've been through a few of these periods now. I've started setting up for indoor training. This morning a quick trip to the shop for supplies that the puppy will eat, another short run solo, and a short puppy training session of fetch the ball. I ran 80 minutes just before the weather arrived. Tassie Masters Athletics posted this video from the Australian Masters Athletics Championships mixed XC race a few days ago on their Youtube site. A great memory from such a great event.
