Direct Preparation for 2021-22 Track Season

Less than five months to go until I turn age 60. It's time to look ahead at what Club or Australian track records I might be able to achieve and what training I will neeed to get there. The records vary from possible to improbable. I will aim for all of them regardless of whether I am likely to succeed or not.

List of Current M60 ACT Masters Athletics Club and Australian (in brackets). Track Records: 800m 2:19.18 (2:10.42) ; 1500m 4:43.81 (4:29.0) ; Mile 5:28.82 (4:57.10) ; 3000m 10:31.02 (9:41.20); 5000m 17:59.20 (16:33.30) ; 10000m 37:43.0 (34:23.0) ; One Hour 15702 metres (16854 metres).

Where am I at now? After training for 20 weeks at 120km/week average (125km for the last 6 weeks), I have a great base to work from. I will have to keep that ticking along for another 4 months or so. I think I am already close to challenging for records 3000m and above. For distances 800m to One Mile I will need to start developing strength, power, leg speed and speed endurance. I will start that from Monday by incorporating extra 100-500 metre strides plus strength hills and power hills into the training week. Also more upper body and core exercises. Track racing won't start until October in Canberra. If that is postponed (likely) I can always continue time trials on my own. Some videos of my 800m and 1500m races:
